THE LESSONS
The Alexander Technique is taught in private lessons, with the use of a chair and a table. The teacher guides the student in simple activities like sitting on a chair and standing up again in order to reveal the student’s habits in posture, movement and thinking. During the lesson the teacher uses his hands in a gentle touch and will give verbal instructions to help the student break these habits. Result is a better balance, posture and coordination.
The student will learn what it means to leave himself alone so that he will be able to react in a more balanced way to the many stimuli of daily life, both physically, mentally and emotionally.
The table is used for the student to let go of excessive tension while in a constructive rest position. If so desired the teacher can look at specific activities like playing a musical instrument, sitting behind the computer, doing a sport, dance, etc.
A lesson takes 45 minutes and costs 40 euros incl. BTW.
There is an offer of ten lessons for 360 euros incl. BTW.
Discount for students of the theaterschool:
35 euros per lesson and 315 euros for ten lessons.
A frequency of one lesson a week is recommended in the beginning. Usually a student needs twenty to thirty lessons before he can practice the technique on his own.
Some health insurance companies reimburse part of the Alexander lessons.
